[the girl] Sarah is not your typical, perverted university student in those oh-so-charming Girls Gone Wild videos. She likes mansecks. And lots of it. Friend her if you too share the fondness for the dance that shall not be named (even though it was just named not two sentences ago).
[fetishes] RPS, fan fiction, narcissism
[music] J-rock, visual kei, L'Arc~en~Ciel, Gackt, Buck-Tick, SADS, Pierrot

| Book read hard. J-rock book good maybe? Fire bad! |
[15 Sep 2005|03:11pm] |
I'm buying jrock, ink. because gosh darn it, I will write my senior thesis on J-rock and it will include literary sources outside the Internet (which you can say is not a literary source to begin with, but I'll steer clear of that argument for now). I'd be completely surprised if there was something new to be discovered about any of my favorite bands (L'Arc, for example), in this book, but that's not the point. When I try to explain J-rock, I want have a reference other than the Internet at my fingertips, something tangible and l legitamate.
I can't agree more with author Yun's comment in this article: "If someone has a j-rock CD in their car, they'll play it over and over and over. They'll tell all their friends about it. They want to share what they discovered -- I know it sounds corny, but it's like showing off buried treasure."
Can I get an amen?
( Artist List according to toymania.com )
I'm glad to see all my favorite bands included (L'Arc, B-T, SADS, Gackt, Pierrot), though I'm surprised other fan-favorites weren't. Perhaps their runs were too short (i.e.: Baiser, Gazette, Nightmare, and especially Raphael) or maybe Yun just doesn't like them (i.e.: maybe Lareine and Laputa). I know that if I wrote a book about J-rock, it wouldn't include Miyavi. It wouldn't even mention Miyavi. In fact, I'd put a special page that hypnotizes people into forgetting Miyavi ever existed. Yeah, that's a good idea.

I'm unlocking my journal temporarily until Live Journal fixes its not-wanting-to-show-my-journal issues. Hopefully you'll be able to see my craziness on your friends view now.

| the crying game - Gackt: 1, Hyde: 0 |
[19 May 2005|12:54am] |
Title: the crying game - Gackt: 1, Hyde: 0 Idea concocted by: luceage and yours truly Written by: Yours Truly Rating: PG-13 Pairings: Hyde + Gackt Status: One shot, complete Summary: Gackt walks in on Hyde making love to another man. How can he ever forgive the man who broke his heart? Author's Note: The hilarity of this concept was extremely difficult to convey in written words (as opposed to oral as with the original) and I'm afraid I failed at it. At the very least, luceage will appreciate this because she's the brains. I just wrote it.

| Those Beautiful Doe Eyes |
[19 Apr 2005|09:07pm] |
Title: Those Beautiful Doe Eyes Rating: R for language and violence Status: complete Genre: AU Summary: A beautiful Mexican chica walks into Kitamura's life and brings in a whole lot of trouble. Note1: This is a J-rock AU noir parody, if that makes sense. Note2: I think I spent more time editing the pictures for this fic than writing the actual fic. (OmK, fic art!) Note3: I liked Sin City way too much.

[21 Jan 2005|10:53am] |
My life has been incredibly boring for the last month. Cabin fever has taken over. I have two choices of what to do with my next three weeks: eat my way out of boredom or exercise my way out of boredom. So far, I've been doing both, which leaves me at a happy medium, though the food supply at my house is sparse and boring at best (crackers! w00t!).
Is anyone here a member of jcrack? Have any of you seen how many requests I got?
Anyway, I haven't made a "comic story" in awhile.

[Edit: Please read this post by Ms Kagome.]
I would like to bring something to the attention of my fellow fiction readers and writers and thus have left this entry public. This is not just a (possible, though highly likely) travesty to fan fiction, but also to the art of writing in general. Someone, a Big Name Fan if you will, (possibly) commited the highest form of crime against inferiors, peers, and superiors alike. I don't care how little talent you have or serious you take yourself, there is one thing you absolutely cannot do to anyone. That, my friends, is ( plagiarize. )
Perhaps I'm being paranoid. But if there's one thing that absolutely boils my blood, it's plagiarism in any shape or form. Direct quoting without so much as a hint of credit is unacceptable, dishonorable, and blasphemous to the art of literature. I really would love to hear what all of you think. (And please, knock some sense into me.)
[Edit: I would like to apologize to Ms Kagome for causing emotional and/or moral anguish over this. I did not bring create these accusations to taint someone's relatively good name. My only hope is that we can all learn from this by taking note of what carelessness can initiate.]

The J-rock panel was rushed due to Eric's neurotic fear of his parents. Our so I'm assuming. Anyway, I was disappointed that we had to fast forward through many P.V.s, but overall satisfied that we reached some people. (Note to self: Don't scream obscenities at Miyavi while giving a public presentation.) At Cathy's, a bunch of us watched Moon Child (a proper transition, methinks), though some people (*angry fist shake*) were talking most of the time about things unrelated to Gackt, hyde, and Gakuhai. At least Kim discovered the mystery of her parentage.
Katie: Log in or I'll friends lock everything from now on. XP

For all my transnational friends: Please disregard the following post as spoiled American ranting.
( ... )
Now this is something I want everyone to read: My brother has decided to join the Marines if Bush gets another four years. He will undoubtedly be sent to Iraq because he says it's better than being drafted into the Army. My family has been trying to convince him otherwise for over a year, yet he will not be swayed. I am currently in tears. Will my brother die because conservatives will sacrifice peace negotiations for seeing abortion abolished?

Now, bitches, go out and vote! It is erection election day, after all! (And don't leave a comment saying you're not American and thus cannot vote, please.)
